We’re really pleased to feature once again in The Visitor 2022 again this year! It's a free guide published by our friends at the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is available at Aysgarth Falls National Park Centre - only 4 miles from our pods.
The guide showcases the many things to do in and around the Dales, from browsing local farmers' markets and uncovering stories from our history, to exploring underground caves and visiting the home of Wallace and Gromit’s beloved cheese… the famous Wensleydale Creamery! But, with over 2,500km of rights of way in the National Park, one of the best things to do in the Dales is simply head out and explore it by foot.
Some of our favourite walks in Wensleydale include a gentle amble along Aysgarth Falls, a slightly longer walk from Preston-under-Scar to Leyburn across the Shawl, and of course the route up Pen Hill - the stunning hill which makes up the view from our pods! There are routes for everyone in the Dales, including short family friendly walks, and more challenging long distance trails. Why not attempt one of our three peaks, Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, or go the whole hog and tick the entire Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge off your bucket list?
If ever you’re in need of inspiring during your visit, please speak with us and we’ll share with you our recommendations along with some directions. And, if you’re happy to travel a little further afield, there's a nice 4 mile route in The Visitor 2022 guide from Grassington to Hebden!
If walking’s not so much your thing, you can browse local shops or head off for the day to one of the many visitor attractions, but more on that coming soon...
What ever way you decide to spend your time in the Dales, there’s nothing better than finishing off your day with a soak in our jacuzzi! Relaxing in one of our pods is the perfect way to unwind after a long, busy day exploring the Yorkshire Dales - come and join us for a Wensleydale Glamping adventure!
